Description

We Do & Care is a city-wide event that invites girls from the community to learn what it is like to be in STEM fields and how sex should not be an obstacle to be in this. By having conferences from local successful women in the field and workshops to show that STEM can be fun, we slowly try to break free from the stereotypes that society has placed.

This event also invites family members to join a conference on how they can have a direct impact on their child future by promoting their future and career path. To reach a broader audience the goal of this movement is to allow for low income communities to participate by facilitating transport and food during the event thanks to our sponsors.

My contribution

Event coordinator and instructor

As event coordinator I reserve labs and computer rooms in campus making sure that there is enough space for all the students. I also structure the workshops with fellow staff to determine the material that will be needed and what subjects to teach.
During the event I am an instructor in the electrical workshop making sure that all the students learn and follow the instructions and helping them with anything.
